About the Opportunity
In this senior leadership position, you’ll oversee the daily operations of acute inpatient services – ensuring safe, person-centred care that aligns with funding requirements and national quality standards. You’ll work closely with clinical teams and executives to deliver exceptional outcomes, while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of safe, evidence-based care across the acute unit.
- Coordinate daily operations and ensure optimal workforce and resource management.
- Mentor and support nursing staff, fostering a positive and accountable team culture.
- Maintain accurate staffing levels and skill mix to meet clinical and operational needs.
- Drive financial accountability and implement cost-effective service delivery strategies.
- Ensure compliance with documentation, assessment, and care planning requirements.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support high standards of care including Advance Care Planning and End-of-Life Care.
- Facilitate service improvements and the implementation of new models of care.
Skills & Experience
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- At least 3 years’ experience in acute care nursing.
- Proven leadership or management experience in a hospital or health service.
- Sound knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Strong ability to lead teams, manage change, and foster clinical excellence.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competence with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
- Willingness to provide direct clinical care when required.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing, Health Management, or Clinical Leadership (or in progress) highly desired.
