About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Practice Manager/Nurse to join a well-established general practice on Brisbane’s northside.

In this dual role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic while providing hands-on nursing care to patients. This position combines leadership, business management, and clinical practice, ideal for a nurse ready to step into a leadership position within a collaborative, community-focused environment.

Alternatively, we are also considering applications from a Part-time Practice Nurse (28 hours per week) who is passionate about patient care and looking for a supportive and flexible workplace.

Key Responsibilities

As Practice Manager:

• Lead risk management and quality improvement initiatives
• Oversee recruitment, staff development, and performance management
• Ensure compliance with all legislative and accreditation standards (RACGP)
• Manage financial reporting, rostering, and budgets
• Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement

As Practice Nurse:

• Provide clinical care including immunisations, wound management, ECGs, and pathology collection
• Conduct health assessments, care plans, and chronic disease management
• Maintain high standards of infection control and equipment sterilisation
• Support preventative health and patient education initiatives
• Ensure adherence to clinical governance, WHS, and quality standards

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Proven experience in general practice or primary healthcare
• Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of RACGP accreditation and compliance standards
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment

Desirable

• Previous experience in a dual Practice Manager/Nurse role
• Familiarity with medical software (e.g., Best Practice, Medical Director, or similar)
• Business management or leadership qualifications
