We are seeking a Mental Health clinician for a 3 month locum role in the Wheatbelt Region of WA. The clinician will provide specialised mental health services for children and adolescents, as well as their families, as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will carry out mental health and family assessments in consultation with other mental health team members and ensure that principles of professional practice are carried out at all times. You will assist in maintaining network connections within the community with schools, general practitioners, hospitals, community health and other service providers. 

About You

  • Completed Qualification in Social Work or Psychology with eligibility to register with AASW or AHPRA, depending on discipline. 
  • Demonstrated experience in casework practice, particularly with children & adolescences aged up to 18 years. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multicultural and cross-cultural issues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Aboriginal cultural Respect Framework.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including report writing, oral presentations and group work.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check.
  • Current National Police Certificate.
  • Up to date vaccinations including Covid-19, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B & current Influenza. 

Essential Requirements

  1. Tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work and eligibility for registration in Australia.
  2. Recent experience as a community based mental health practitioner.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of emotional, behavioural, psychological and psychiatric disorders of children and adolescents.
  4. Demonstrated ability in assessment and providing treatment/interventions for children and adolescents with mental health problems, within the context of their families.
  5. Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C‐A Class drivers license. 

Remuneration Package
Generous Agency Rates based on your experience and specialty, paying up to $55 per hour + Super. 
Accommodation and Travel allowance can be negotiated.
