On behalf of our client in Victoria, we are seeking a senior CAMHS Mental Health Clinician to join the Community Mental Health Team based in the Gippsland Region. Conducting assessments determined by risk, urgency, distress, dysfunction, and disability, performing urgent acute clinical assessment and routine assessments, working with consumers in safety planning and delivering high-quality, evidence-based holistic treatment within a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive framework.

Key Responsibilities

– Conduct assessments in a timely manner as determined by risk, urgency, distress, dysfunction and disability per the National Mental Health Triage Scale

– Perform; urgent acute clinical assessment and routine assessment, working with consumers and carers in safety planning and promoting and delivering high-quality, evidence-based holistic treatment within a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive framework

– Work within a recovery-based framework

– Completion of all intake and assessment documents and where services continue completion of recovery documents

– Use current evidence-based practice and interventions

– Collaborate with community organisations to meet identified needs

– Monitor the consumer’s physical/medical state as appropriate and indicated, promoting associated treatments in conjunction with their mental state

– Provide pharmacological/psycho-education specific to the consumer’s identified needs

– Provide direct clinical work including individual, group or family work

– Facilitate access to services relevant to the consumer’s needs

– Undertake regular reviews and discharge planning in collaboration with the consumer, carers, significant others and multi-disciplinary team

– Adhere to responsible rostering and leave management practices

– Adhere to organisational documentation guidelines when recording treatment and support in a comprehensive, factual and sequential manner

– Participate in clinical supervision

– Ensure data is collected to assist with decision making and monitoring, including Health Service Agreement targets and KPI reports

– Use the clinical record set up to allow assessment and care planning and delivery to be tracked, monitored and evaluated

– Ensure consumer medical records are utilised in accordance with legislative requirements and LRH policies and procedures

– Contribute to staff training in the availability and use of resources, which are culturally and linguistically sensitive

– Communicate, interpret and ensure all relevant policies and procedures are educated to, understood and adhered to

About You

– Completed degree/diploma in Social Work eligibility for membership with the AASW

– Minimum 2 years post registration experience in Mental Health field

– Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, the National Standards for Mental Health Services 2010, National Standards for the Mental Health Workforce 2013 and NSQHS standards

– Possess an understanding of relevant legislation and practice frameworks relating to family violence practice

– Proven clinical experience within Child and Youth mental health field

– Good level of understanding of the mental health system in both primary and tertiary service operations

– Capacity to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team structure

– Sound knowledge of early childhood development

– Competent at performing a comprehensive risk assessment and crisis management

– Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external services

– Current driver’s licence

Salary

– Excellent casual rates paying up to $70-75 per hour plus super (based on experience)
