Griffith Base Hospital is a renowned healthcare facility serving the Griffith community and surrounding regions. With 117 beds and a C1 peer group classification, we are dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services. Annually, we handle approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, conduct 2,500 operations, and facilitate 540 births, making us a vital healthcare provider in the area.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Midwife to join our team on a locum basis for a 12-week contract. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to provide essential care to expectant mothers and newborns.

Benefits:

• $10,000.00 bonus payment paid after completion of a 12 week contract (shorter contracts available with a pro-rata bonus payment
• Up to $1,884.90 per week + casual loading + super + $129.70 daily allowance 
• Travel + accommodation package provided

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive midwifery care to pregnant women, mothers, and newborns in line with established protocols and best practices.
• Conduct antenatal assessments, assist with labor and delivery, and provide postnatal care and support.
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.

Requirements:

• Birth suite competent 
• Minimum 2 years midwifery experience 
• COVID vaccinated
