About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join the Lismore Acute Care Team. In this role, you will play a key part in expanding service capacity and delivering timely support to adults (18+) experiencing acute mental health crises.

Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, short-term intervention, and coordinate referrals to Adult Mental Health Services or other appropriate external providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide community-based acute mental health interventions and crisis response
• Conduct triage, comprehensive assessments, risk assessment, and safety planning
• Deliver short-term case management and assertive outreach
• Provide brief psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate in care planning and discharge with internal and external stakeholders
• Practice in accordance with Trauma-Informed Care and Recovery principles

Requirements

• Qualifications in Psychology or Social Work
• Current AHPRA registration or AASW eligibility
• Experience in acute or community mental health settings
• Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and collaborative care skills
• Ability to work independently and manage high-pressure clinical situations
• NSW Driver’s Licence and Working With Children Check
