I was exploring job opportunities when I came across CMR and decided to apply. I connected with Luke Thomas, who has been amazing from the very start.

What began as a simple job application opened doors to opportunities I never imagined or even dreamed of. Luke was incredibly well-organised, responsive, and reassuring throughout the process. He was also warm, friendly, and genuinely supportive, which made the whole experience feel seamless.

The process was smooth from start to finish, and here I am now, out in the NT bush, gaining new learnings, experiences, and personal growth. I’m really grateful for the support and would recommend CMR to anyone exploring new career opportunities.

I had such a wonderful experience with Dara. He was incredibly kind, patient, and supportive throughout the whole recruitment process. He really took the time to explain everything clearly, always answered my questions, and never made me feel rushed or pressured. What I appreciated most was how motivating and encouraging he was, especially when I felt unsure or nervous about the process. His positive attitude and genuine care gave me confidence and made the journey to securing my nursing job so much smoother. I’m truly grateful for his guidance and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a supportive and professional recruiter.

Thank you CMR for affording me such a great opportunity to work with your company.
Heartfelt thanks to Chantal at CMR who did an excellent job in terms of finding me a good place for my first contract job. Her communication, her honesty regarding any questions that I had, as well as ensuring I am comfortable made the whole experience invaluable.
I am definitely recommending CMR to friends and anyone looking for an Agency to work with.

I am currently on my second placement with Cornerstone Medical Recruitment in Beautiful Bega and before that in Tasmania. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience, particularly with Caitlin and Madison.

Their commitment truly goes above and beyond. From finding suitable placements to coordinating all the necessary paperwork, they make the entire process seamless and stress-free. The level of support provided throughout each placement has been exceptional.

Every email or query is answered promptly, and you are made to feel like a valued individual rather than just another name on a list. Their professionalism, dedication, and genuine care set Cornerstone Medical Recruitment apart.

I am incredibly grateful to have found such a supportive and reliable agency and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking medical recruitment services.

I am very happy to have been taken on board by CMR. I really feel like they've "Got my back". Looking after me. I feel like I am part of a family. This is very important when one goes to a new place to work, alone. I know that wherever I am, I can phone Dorian and we can have a chat. And suddenly, 'everything's alright'.🤗👍🤗👍🤗👍

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Dara from CMR for his exceptional support throughout my job sponsorship journey. From the very beginning, Dara has been incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping me navigate every step of the process.

His clear guidance, prompt communication, and willingness to go above and beyond made a complicated journey feel much easier and less stressful. Dara always took the time to explain things in detail, reassured me when I felt overwhelmed, and ensured that I was well-prepared at every stage. His professionalism and dedication truly stand out.

I am extremely grateful for his continuous support and highly recommend Dara to anyone seeking assistance with job sponsorship or career-related guidance. He is an outstanding consultant, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to support me through this important milestone.

How do I know if I have the Stream A qualifications needed to work in Australia?

  • You will need to complete a self-check via the APHRA (Australian Nurses and Midwifery National Board) Website if you want to work in Australia.
  • The three streams (outcomes) are:
    • Stream A – IQNMs who hold a qualification considered to be substantially equivalent, or based on similar competencies, to an approved qualification.
    • Stream B – IQNMs who hold a qualification that is relevant to the profession, but is not substantially equivalent, nor based on similar competencies to an approved qualification.
    • Stream C – IQNMs who hold a qualification that is not substantially equivalent or relevant to an approved qualification. This means you will have to come to Australia and do upgraded courses prior.
  • For more details – please visit: Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

What are the main types of work visas available?

  • There are several types of work visas in Australia, including the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482), Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186), and Working Holiday visa (subclass 417 or 462), among others. Each visa has its own eligibility criteria and conditions.

How do I find job opportunities in Australia?

  • You can search for job opportunities through cmr’s medical jobs board. We recruit for a diverse range of locum, temp and permanent and our specialist recruiters also have roles that are not advertised. A healthcare career can take you all over Australia – and so can we. Our network of contacts means we can help you land a job in, well, pretty much anywhere

What are the requirements for getting a job in Australia?

  • The requirements vary depending on the job and visa type, but generally, you’ll need relevant skills and qualifications for the position you’re applying for. Some employers may also require you to undergo a skills assessment or meet certain English language proficiency requirements.

Do I need to have my qualifications recognised in Australia?

  • In some cases, yes. Certain professions and trades require formal recognition in Australia before you can work in those fields. This process is called skills assessment and is usually conducted by relevant Australian authorities or professional bodies.

How do I apply for a work visa?

  • The application process for a work visa varies depending on the type of visa you’re applying for. You’ll typically need to submit an online application, provide supporting documents, and pay the required fees. It’s important to carefully follow the instructions provided by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Can I bring my family with me on a work visa?

  • Some work visas allow you to bring your family members with you as dependents. However, this will depend on the specific visa subclass and your individual circumstances. Make sure to check the visa conditions and requirements for family members before applying.

How long do I have to work for an organisation?

  • We do recommend a minimum of 2 years experience in the specialty you are applying for not just based on the client needs but also so you can confidently transition in to a new health care system..

Is my experience and qualifications in the UK valid in Australia?

  • For a 186 via you will need to o a skills assessment, this is called an ANMAC assessment and recommend having this completed before applying. UK Skills are Valid but the assessment helps us get you the best visa option in you specialist area.

Do I need to get a registration in Australia?

  • Yes, you must be AHPRA registered before you begin work, again I would be organising this on application.

How do I get registration as a nurse or midwife in Australia?

  • The assessment for registration is separate to the assessment for skilled migration. The assessment for registration is conducted by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) on behalf of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. You need to submit an application to Ahpra for assessment for registration and meet the requirements for registration.

  • If you hold current registration as a registered nurse, enrolled nurse or midwife your name will appear on Ahpra’s online public Register of Practitioners.

Do I need to register with AHPRA to work as a doctor in Australia?

  • Yes. To work as a doctor in Australia, you must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Medical Board of Australia.

  • Doctors new to practising in Australia are often granted Limited or Provisional Registration with a supervision level assigned by AHPRA. This is part of the medical registration process for international doctors. Most of our clients require at least Level 3 supervision, as many practices are unable to support Level 1 or Level 2 placements.
  • For more information, visit: Medical Board of Australia – Limited Registration.

What level of supervision do I need as a doctor to work with cmr?

  • Most of our current clients require a minimum of Level 3 supervision. Practices that offer Level 1 or Level 2 placements are rare, as they need additional infrastructure and senior oversight to support closer supervision.
  • If you’re currently on Level 1 or 2, we’re happy to keep your details on file for future opportunities that may support your registration.
