I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Cornerstone Medical Recruitment (CMR) for the exceptional work they do and for having such a knowledgeable and supportive team. In particular, I would like to appreciate Dara, who has truly been a Godsend to me from the very first conversation we had. Although I have never met him personally and our entire process was handled online, everything went so smoothly. Moving to another country and going through such an important process can easily become stressful, but my experience was completely different. Dara was always there to guide me, provide the information I needed, check in on me, and make sure everything was moving in the right direction. I am beyond grateful for the support I received from Dara and the entire CMR team. Because of their support, I am now in Renmark, Australia, practicing as a Registered Nurse and living the career journey I had hoped for. I am truly happy and grateful to have had CMR and Dara as part of this journey. I would highly recommend Cornerstone Medical Recruitment to anyone looking for a professional, knowledgeable, and supportive team. Thank you, Dara, and thank you to everyone at CMR. I am truly grateful for everything you have done for me. God bless you all. 🙏

Dara was such a great person to deal with. His support extended way beyond the interview process. He always checked in with me even after I have already successfully on-boarded with my new role. I must say he genuinely cared about me as his represented candidate. Thanks Dara! -Josef

Huge thankyou to Ashley Stephens at CMR recruitement! During my first locum contract, Ash was incredibly empathetic, responsive and supportive throughout the entire process. She made me feel cared for and provided lots of support through my contract. She was my go-to when I needed help and kept me well informed throughout the process. I'm an OT and I would strongly recommend Ash to anybody looking for locum OT opportunities 🤗 Thanks again and can't wait for the next contract/adventure ✨

I couldn’t be happier with the support I received throughout the whole process. From the very beginning, Scott went above and beyond to arrange my interview around my availability and made the whole process so easy. He took the time to prepare me for the interview, checked in with me before and afterwards, and was genuinely invested in how everything went. Once I was offered the position, he made sure all my hours were submitted correctly so I could get the best possible pay, and followed through to make sure I received my contract. Even after I started, he checked in to see how I was settling in and how things were going. What really stood out to me was how genuinely excited and invested he seemed throughout the whole process — it honestly felt like he was just as excited as I was! I’ve dealt with recruitment agencies before, but the level of personal support and care I received from him was exceptional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Scott to any nurse looking for someone who genuinely has your back.

I have had an absolutely amazing experience with Mr Scott Harris. He is incredibly dedicated, committed, and friendly, and he has a wonderful way of making you feel at ease throughout the process. Just before your interview, he takes the time to chat with you, calm your nerves, and boost your confidence. What stands out most is that he genuinely believes in you and encourages you, even though he has never met you in person. That kind of support is truly rare. I am ever so grateful for his dedication and encouragement. Thank you, Mr Harris, for everything you do. God bless.
CMR is an agency that I find very professional, caring and respectful of their staff. My consultant (Elaine Seaver) is very clear and concise in her communications with empathy in regards to placements and what is suitable. Very supportive from the beginning and punctual, ensuring that all is well at my workplace. I am very impressed and appreciative of the CMR team efforts. Well done!

I’ve had a really positive experience with Elaine as my nursing agency consultant. She genuinely cares about her staff and always goes above and beyond to make sure we feel supported, safe and secure at work. Elaine always listens to and accommodate our needs wherever possible. She makes an effort to provide suitable work opportunities and is very understanding and approachable. And CMR also has a great range of contracts available across different locations in Australia, with competitive pay rates and plenty of opportunities for nurses. I really appreciate the support and professionalism that I receive through my time with the agency. Thank you, Elaine, for always looking after your nurses and making us feel valued. I would definitely recommend Elaine and CMR to other nurses looking for a supportive and reliable agency! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

How do I know if I have the Stream A qualifications needed to work in Australia?

  • You will need to complete a self-check via the APHRA (Australian Nurses and Midwifery National Board) Website if you want to work in Australia.
  • The three streams (outcomes) are:
    • Stream A – IQNMs who hold a qualification considered to be substantially equivalent, or based on similar competencies, to an approved qualification.
    • Stream B – IQNMs who hold a qualification that is relevant to the profession, but is not substantially equivalent, nor based on similar competencies to an approved qualification.

  • For more details – please visit: Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

What are the main types of work visas available?

  • There are several types of work visas in Australia, including the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482), Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186), and Working Holiday visa (subclass 417 or 462), among others. Each visa has its own eligibility criteria and conditions.

How do I find job opportunities in Australia?

  • You can search for job opportunities through cmr’s medical jobs board. We recruit for a diverse range of locum, temp and permanent and our specialist recruiters also have roles that are not advertised. A healthcare career can take you all over Australia – and so can we. What are the requirements for getting a job in Australia?

  • The requirements vary depending on the job and visa type, but generally, you’ll need relevant skills and qualifications for the position you’re applying for. Some employers may also require you to undergo a skills assessment or meet certain English language proficiency requirements.

Do I need to have my qualifications recognised in Australia?

  • In some cases, yes. Certain professions and trades require formal recognition in Australia before you can work in those fields. This process is called skills assessment and is usually conducted by relevant Australian authorities or professional bodies.

How do I apply for a work visa?

  • The application process for a work visa varies depending on the type of visa you’re applying for. You’ll typically need to submit an online application, provide supporting documents, and pay the required fees. • We do recommend a minimum of 2 years experience in the specialty you are applying for not just based on the client needs but also so you can confidently transition in to a new health care system..

Is my experience and qualifications in the UK valid in Australia?

  • For a 186 via you will need to o a skills assessment, this is called an ANMAC assessment and recommend having this completed before applying. UK Skills are Valid but the assessment helps us get you the best visa option in you specialist area.

Do I need to get a registration in Australia?

  • Yes, you must be AHPRA registered before you begin work, again I would be organising this on application.

How do I get registration as a nurse or midwife in Australia?

  • The assessment for registration is separate to the assessment for skilled migration. The assessment for registration is conducted by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) on behalf of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. You need to submit an application to Ahpra for assessment for registration and meet the requirements for registration.

  • If you hold current registration as a registered nurse, enrolled nurse or midwife your name will appear on Ahpra’s online public Register of Practitioners.

Do I need to register with AHPRA to work as a doctor in Australia?

  • Yes. To work as a doctor in Australia, you must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Medical Board of Australia.

  • Doctors new to practising in Australia are often granted Limited or Provisional Registration with a supervision level assigned by AHPRA. This is part of the medical registration process for international doctors. Most of our clients require at least Level 3 supervision, as many practices are unable to support Level 1 or Level 2 placements.
  • For more information, visit: Medical Board of Australia – Limited Registration.

What level of supervision do I need as a doctor to work with cmr?

  • Most of our current clients require a minimum of Level 3 supervision. Practices that offer Level 1 or Level 2 placements are rare, as they need additional infrastructure and senior oversight to support closer supervision.
  • If you’re currently on Level 1 or 2, we’re happy to keep your details on file for future opportunities that may support your registration.
