Registered Nurse – ED & Acute Wards | Launceston & Burnie, TAS (Winter Contracts)

Contract: 8-12 weeks | Start: May-July 2026

Locations: Launceston General Hospital & North West Regional Hospital, Tasmania

We’re seeking experienced Registered Nurses to jump into flexible ED/acute ward contracts across Tasmania’s key regional hospitals – where clinical variety meets stunning scenery.

The Roles:

Work across fast-paced Emergency Departments and/or busy acute medical/surgical wards.

You’ll be part of supportive, down-to-earth teams delivering hands-on care across a wide range of presentations, from acute emergencies to complex ward patients.

Expect variety, pace, and real clinical growth.

Launceston General Hospital:

A major regional hub with a busy ED, surgical services, and specialty wards.

Think high acuity, strong multidisciplinary teams, and a great learning environment – all set in Tasmania’s charming northern city.

Burnie – North West Regional Hospital:

Coastal hospital with a community feel, serving a diverse regional population.

Strong team culture, broad scope nursing, and hands on clinical experience.

What you’ll need:

• 3-4+ years acute RN experience (ED or ward-based)
• Confident in triage, assessments, and clinical escalation – ED only
• ALS highly desirable (essential for ED roles)
• Strong teamwork + ability to thrive in busy, varied environments
• Calm, adaptable, and ready to jump into regional practice
