Mental Health Registered Nurse – Metro Clinic (Temp-to-Perm)

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Registered Nurse to join a well-established, metro-based psychology service on a temp-to-perm pathway, with genuine opportunity for permanent appointment based on performance and fit.

This is a fast-paced, triage-focused clinical environment where you will be at the frontline of intake, urgent presentations and mental health risk assessment – all within a structured and highly supported multidisciplinary team.

This role offers the best of both worlds: high-acuity clinical exposure home ability to return home every day with predictable clinic hours.

What you’ll be doing

• Front-line triage and intake of mental health presentations
• Responding to urgent presentation calls within RN scope
• Conducting initial mental health screening, risk identification and clinical observation
• Supporting escalation of high-risk or complex presentations to senior clinicians
• Assisting with care coordination and follow-up planning with psychologists and the clinical team
• Supporting debrief arrangements following urgent presentations
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and escalation pathways
• Contributing to a safe, structured, and professional clinic environment

About you

• Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
• Strong experience in mental health nursing
• Confident in triage, risk assessment and escalation processes
• Strong communication and client engagement skills
• Team-focused with a calm, structured clinical approach
