Tweed Hospital is a leading regional referral Level 5 base hospital, offering a comprehensive range of healthcare services to the community. Our facilities include acute and emergency care, surgical services, women’s care and newborn services, intensive and coronary care units, mental health inpatient facilities, Aboriginal Health services, and Allied Health outpatient clinics.

Position Overview:

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Level 5 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a short-term contract basis. The ICU is a 10-bed unit equipped with specialized staff and advanced equipment to provide high-quality care for critically ill patients. As an ICU Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and support to critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs, administer medications, and assist with procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in an ICU or critical care setting.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Flexibility to work rotating rosters, including weekends and public holidays.
