We’re partnering with a well-established community mental health service in North West Queensland to recruit experienced Mental Health Social Workers and Registered Psychologists passionate about supporting young people aged 12-25 years.

With both 12-week locum and permanent opportunities available, this is your chance to join a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care in a supportive, clinic-based environment.

The Role

Working within a youth-friendly, multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide assessment, intervention and care coordination for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns.

This is a centre-based role with no outreach requirements, allowing you to focus on delivering quality therapeutic care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social, suicide risk and mental health assessments
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Develop and review collaborative treatment plans with young people and their families
• Coordinate care with internal clinicians and external service providers
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting
• Participate in case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings

About the Service

You’ll be joining a growing and supportive multidisciplinary team consisting of:

• Centre Manager / Clinical Lead
• Care Coordinator
• Social Worker
• Visiting Psychologists
• Vocational Specialist
• Administration Support

Clinicians typically see 4-5 clients per day, allowing time to provide high-quality care and meaningful therapeutic engagement.

About You

We’re looking for clinicians with experience working in child, youth or community mental health who enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive team.

You will have:

• Mental Health Social Worker with a current Medicare Provider Number or Registered Psychologist with AHPRA registration
• Experience delivering evidence-based mental health interventions
• Confidence completing comprehensive mental health and risk assessments
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
• A genuine passion for supporting young people and their families

You will also hold (or be willing to obtain):

• Current Driver’s Licence
• Police Check
• Working With Children Check (or equivalent)
