About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join a well-established Rural Queensland Health mental health service. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can step into a senior role with minimal supervision.

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide high-quality, recovery-focused care while managing a complex mental health caseload. This role is ideal for clinicians with strong Queensland Health experience who can hit the ground running and provide clinical leadership when required.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and ongoing case management
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions across a complex caseload
  • Complete risk assessments, safety planning and crisis intervention
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care
  • Provide clinical support and guidance to junior clinicians where appropriate
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and utilise Queensland Health systems
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and best practice mental health care

Skills & experience

  • Minimum 3+ years’ recent Queensland Health mental health experience (essential)
  • Qualification as a Social Worker (eligible for AASW membership), Psychologist (AHPRA registered)
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex mental health presentations within public mental health services
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, crisis intervention and recovery-oriented practice
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and clinical decision-making skills
  • Experience using Queensland Health clinical systems is highly desirable
  • Ability to commence with minimal orientation and quickly integrate into an established team
