Registered Nurse – Night Duty Position (Aged Care)

Permanent Part Time Position offering 72 Hours per Fortnight
Night Duty Specific – 10:00 pm – 6:30 am

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking for a night duty position on the Sunshine Coast? We are seeking a confident, and clinically experienced Registered Nurse to join a dedicated aged care team at a large residential aged care home on the Sunshine Coast. This is an excellent opportunity for a RN who enjoys working autonomously, providing clinical leadership, and delivering exceptional resident-centred care in a supportive environment.

About the Role

Working night shifts, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care while leading and supervising a team of Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Assistants. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of residents while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice in a well-established, busy aged care home.

Shift Pattern

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday (10:00 pm – 6:30 am)
  • Week 2: Monday to Thursday (10:00 pm – 6:30 am)

Total: 72 hours per fortnight

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Assistants
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised resident care plans
  • Administer medications and manage wound care
  • Respond effectively to clinical changes and emergencies
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation, including Serious Incident Responses (SIRs)
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, infection prevention, and antimicrobial stewardship principles
  • Collaborate with residents, families, allied health professionals, and the broader care team
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Current National Police Check
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse within residential aged care
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Antimicrobial stewardship
    • Serious Incident Responses (SIRs)
    • Clinical leadership in an aged care environment
  • Experience providing after-hours supervision and working independently
