The journey started when Samantha Miklos, an Occupational Therapist, headed to London for a change of scenery. She registered with a recruitment agency for OT work when the role of a recruiter piqued her interest. From then on, she found a new love for recruitment and a passion for helping the healthcare community find their dream career.

Three years later in 2012 with her feet firmly back in Australia, she founded Cornerstone Medical Recruitment, her husband and now COO Norbert Miklos departing his high-level IT role to assist with the growing operational needs of the business. Now in 2022, they are Australia’s leading healthcare recruitment agency.

Ten years on, the company has grown to employ 50+ staff across Australia recruiting within four Divisions: Nursing & Social Care, Allied Health, Doctors & Medical Admin. Each division has multiple specialisations within their team.

Culture in the workplace has always been so important to Sam and Norbert, both fostering a deep level of people-focused care within their company. With an innovative approach to work/life balance, they now offer their staff work from home options, a 37.5 hour working week, an in-built wellness studio at their office equipped with exercise programs and equipment, a vast amount of high-end company events and the opportunity for career growth. Their wish is for Cornerstone Medical Recruitment to be the best place their team will ever work.

As the company keeps growing, so does the head office. Moving from five different offices over the past few years to fit a larger team, they found their home in a new, modern space in Fortitude Valley, as well as opening a brand-new office branch in Melbourne. Sam and Norbert’s goal is to grow the team of recruiters significantly in 2022 and beyond.
