Libby Warner Joins cmr to Drive Nursing Workforce Strategy Forward
At Cornerstone Medical Recruitment (cmr), we’re always listening to what our clients need. And over the past year, what we’ve heard has been clear: the healthcare landscape is shifting fast. Budgets are tightening, great candidates are harder to find, and the pressure to deliver exceptional care keeps growing. That’s why we’re evolving our approach and strengthening our nursing workforce strategy with the right people leading the way.
We’re delighted to welcome Libby Warner as our new General Manager of Nursing & Midwifery. Libby joins us while our much-loved General Manager Janine Johnson takes some well-deserved parental leave. When Janine returns, the two will lead the division together, combining deep recruitment expertise with rich, lived clinical experience to strengthen our nursing workforce strategy.
“I’ve worked my way from EEN to RN to Nurse Unit Manager, and then into national recruitment leadership. I know what it’s like on the floor and how hospitals really function. That knowledge is critical to finding the right workforce solutions.”
Libby Warner

Libby brings more than 20 years of nursing experience and six years in senior recruitment leadership to the role. She’s joined cmr at a time when many services are moving beyond “we just need staff” to “we need the right people, placed with purpose.” It’s a mindset shift and it’s exactly where our nursing workforce strategy comes in.
“We’re having deeper conversations with clients, about what’s really missing, what’s possible, and how we can get creative. Value isn’t just about price; it’s about fit, retention, and impact. That’s what we’re focused on.”
Libby Warner
Libby’s clinical insight perfectly complements Janine’s recruitment leadership. Together with the wider cmr team, they’ll support services across Australia to move from reactive hiring to confident, proactive nursing workforce strategy planning.
“We want our clients to walk away saying, ‘I know what I’m paying for and it’s worth it.’ Because the result is a long-term solution, not just a fill.”
– Janine Johnson
With Libby now on board and Janine returning soon, our Nursing & Midwifery division is more equipped than ever to support our clients. Together, they bring a powerful combination of clinical insight and strategic know-how, offering thoughtful, tailored guidance to shape your nursing workforce strategy.
With a deep understanding of regional challenges and on-the-ground realities, they’re focused on delivering quality placements that feel like the right fit, not just on paper, but in practice. Whether it’s navigating housing and funding hurdles or mentoring our internal team to keep lifting the bar, their goal is to create lasting, practical solutions that help you build a stronger, more sustainable workforce.
Whether you’ve partnered with cmr for years or you’re just getting to know us, now’s a great time to reach out. We’re here to talk strategy, share insights, and work with you to build a nursing workforce strategy that’s not just fit for today but strong for the future.
