The Opportunity
We are seeking a Staff Specialist in Cardiothoracic Surgery for a fixed-term, part-time role in Hobart. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to a statewide cardiothoracic surgical service, delivering high-quality care across elective and acute adult presentations. The role is available for 12 months, working up to 57 hours per fortnight, with hours to be negotiated.

The Practice
You will join a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Department delivering advanced cardiac and thoracic surgery, minimally invasive procedures, thoracic aortic surgery, outpatient clinics and outreach care across regional and remote communities. The role also includes teaching, mentoring, research and participation in multidisciplinary planning.

The Benefits

• $222,789 – $319,701/annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation
• Further packaging up to $9,010 for living and $2,650 for meals and entertainment
• Vehicle allowance of $30,254 per annum, pro rata
• CPD allowance of $17,483 per annum, pro rata, plus study leave

The Criteria

• Specialist AHPRA Registration
• FRACS in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Experience in Minimal Access Thoracic Surgery
• Willingness for on-call, rotating rosters, teaching, supervision and research
