  • Townsville, QLD | Outreach to Cairns & Mackay
  • Permanent | Full Time | 2 x FTE available
  • Supportive MDT | Relocation support available

Looking for a Speech Pathology role where you can make a genuine difference, work within a specialised service, and enjoy the lifestyle that comes with living in beautiful North Queensland?

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work with a specialised caseload, with a strong focus on Deaf and hard-of-hearing children and young people, including Auslan and deaf-specific services.

The caseload is predominantly paediatric, with some early adolescent clients, and you’ll work with a well-established referral base and existing caseload.

You can expect:

  • A strong volume of referrals for therapy programs
  • Collaboration with the Department of Health and Department of Education
  • Primarily short-term interventions and targeted therapy programs
  • Minimal NDIS involvement and limited long-term case management
  • Opportunities to provide outreach services across regional North Queensland
  • Collaboration with experienced Allied Health Assistants and a multidisciplinary team

This role would suit a clinician who enjoys variety, collaboration and specialised practice, and who is confident stepping into an existing caseload.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist who has:

  • Relevant Speech Pathology qualifications and professional registration
  • Previous clinical experience – this role is not suited to a new graduate
  • The confidence to independently manage an established caseload
  • An interest in working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary practice
  • A willingness to travel for occasional outreach to Cairns and Mackay

Experience with Auslan or deaf-specific services would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right clinician.

What’s on Offer?

  • Up to $110,000 + Super, dependent on experience
  • Permanent, full-time employment
  • Potential relocation assistance to help you make the move to Townsville
  • Career progression pathways
  • A team that invest in your success, with professional development support & training

Why Townsville?

Townsville offers the perfect balance of career opportunity and lifestyle. With tropical weather, beautiful beaches, easy access to Magnetic Island and a relaxed North Queensland lifestyle, you can enjoy everything from weekend island escapes and outdoor adventures to a vibrant local community – without the pace and cost of a major capital city.

If you’re an experienced Speech Pathologist looking for a role where you can build on your clinical skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families, we’d love to hear from you.
