The Opportunity
Join a specialist inpatient mental health and addiction service as a permanent part-time VR GP. Working 24 hours per week, with Thursday and Friday mandatory and remaining hours negotiable, you’ll provide ongoing medical care to inpatients alongside psychiatrists and the wider clinical team. This is a structured medical role focused on patient admissions, reviews, treatment planning and ongoing case management rather than traditional general practice consulting.

The Practice
The service provides GP coverage seven days a week, with generally two GPs working at any one time. The GP workload remains relatively consistent regardless of occupancy, with a typical busy day involving around three new admissions, four to five medical reviews and multidisciplinary team or case planning responsibilities. You’ll work closely with psychiatrists, contribute to patient care plans and provide ongoing medical case management within the inpatient setting.

The Criteria

• Specialist AHPRA Registration
• FRACGP or FACRRM
• Comfortable working within an inpatient mental health and addiction setting
• Experience in mental health, addiction medicine or inpatient care would be advantageous
