Quality & Compliance Officer (Aged Care)

Relocate to Regional Tasmania (4 hours from Hobart)

Our client, a highly regarded not-for-profit aged care provider in regional Tasmania, is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality & Compliance Officer to lead and coordinate quality, compliance, and governance systems across its residential and community care services.

About the Role

Reporting to the executive leadership team, the Quality & Compliance Officer will provide organisational oversight and expert guidance to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading quality and compliance systems across the organisation
  • Coordinating accreditation readiness and audit activities
  • Managing policy governance, compliance registers, and risk management systems
  • Monitoring incidents, complaints, SIRS reporting, and quality indicators
  • Supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing governance reporting and compliance insights to leadership and committees
  • Chairing Quality and WHS committee meetings
  • Supporting managers and staff through legislative and regulatory changes
  • Promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and best practice across all services

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Previous experience in aged care quality, compliance, governance, or risk management
  • Strong working knowledge of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Experience coordinating audits, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement programs
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • The ability to influence, collaborate, and build positive working relationships across all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in quality management, healthcare, nursing, or a related discipline
  • Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
  • Assessor registration or accreditation experience
  • Active involvement in industry or professional groups
